Job Summary:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Manager Mine Engineering, for the Mine Engineering Division at our Head Office in Bedfordview. The successful candidate will report to the Business Development Director.

Key Responsibilities:
• All engineering project design work pertaining to conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility, implementation and handover phases of the project
• Providing project design services to individual clients (internal & external clients)
• Supporting the optimisation of Mine Engineering services through active participation in project proposals and departmental and value chain improvements in order to ensure effective design, estimating and implementation services
• Interface with the client to obtain detailed project parameters
• Interface with Consultants to gain information to support technical project advice, and need to work closely with the Murray & Roberts appointed team
• Development and maintenance of standards, specifications, lessons learned, etc
• Ensuring that Engineering systems are updated, reliable and secure
• Management and capacity building of an interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, draughts persons and associated administrative staff
• Manage internal budgets, contracts and scope changes

Key Requirements:
• At least ten years experience as an Engineer in the mining industry
• Broad understanding and knowledge across all mine engineering disciplines
• Relevant experience in surface and underground mine operations
• Proven ability in Project Management
• People management
• Good understanding of computer programs used within the mining and engineering disciplines
• Have good presentation skills
• Computer literate
• Be fully conversant in English

Education:
• Engineering qualification at NQF level 6 or higher
• Professional registration at ECSA
• A Government Certificate of Competency - Mines and Works (Electrical or Mechanical)
• Project Management professional qualification (ie. PMP or similar)
