Minimum Criteria

Main Job Purpose:
The Category Technology Process or Packing engineer supports the role of the Technology manager to ensure new Innovations and Capacity expansions are delivered through detailed evaluations and the subsequent deployment of appropriate Technology across the Category. Typical focus areas include:
Product Innovation and harmonisation support
Technology Custodian and Regional dynamo for Best Practice and Core Design in Make (Process engineer specific) or Pack (Packing engineer specific)
Development of medium/long term Manufacturing Technology Strategies
CAPEX management – planning and implementation prioritisation.


Key Accountabilities:
Lead change management role on projects ensuring all technical inputs are available to project team and Supply chain is geared up for deployment of new innovations VIP, product transfers, roll outs, recipe changes, growth and line extensions with an agreed time plan.
Single point of contact for innovation teams and sourcing units as technology expert (process or packing). Provide technical leadership into NPI negotiations, agreements and initiatives
Ensures project briefs are delivered to factory and UEnS teams for change.
Deliver proposals to drive Unilever’s technical development (including roll out of internal and external best practices and Unilever core design.)
Technical member of global and regional technical networks or virtual sites.
Support planning partners in the allocation decisions for innovation capability and manufacturing capacity.
Supports CAPEX management – supporting short, medium and long term investment for growth, innovation and convergence. Leads CAPEX planning process for cluster.
Manage engineering standards and processes to ensure compliance to core and regional requirements.
Ensure effective link with R&D and factories for innovation, capacity and VIP delivery.
Support quality improvement projects led by Product Group Quality.

Our client, a leader in the transport industry is currently seeing a mechanical engineer.

The role will ensure effective and efficient repair and maintenance of rolling stock in order to optimize their availability and reliability in this transport network.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Masters or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or college.

Registered member of the Engineers Registration Board.

Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.

At least 8 years senior mechanical or electrical Engineering and management experience gained in the commercial sector

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Conversant with the statutory regulations covering mechanical engineering, employment law and Industrial Relations.

· Training and experience in Finance and People Management.

· Contract management and service providers' agreements.

· Excellent Knowledge and experience of managing technical engineering activities both corporate and regional (field) operations.

· Extensive experience in building and maintenance activities.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate across the transport operations and functions with confidence and authority.

· Intermediate Microsoft computer skills to meet production needs of the position.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

We are looking to fill the 56 positions on this project team as soon as possible to get development up and running. The team will combine their knowledge and expertise with that of an international firm specializing in Solar energy.

We require a Junior Electrical Engineer, You will be responsible for leading the O&M activities in wide solar pant. You will be part of the O&M team and will be in charge to support the Senior Electrical Engineer to plan and supervise all the activities necessary for the correct operation and maintenance of the assigned plant. H/she will be responsible of the operative results of the sites from a performance point of view minimizing the operative cost and will be responsible to review and prepare periodic reports to summarize the plant overall results.

Within the scope, you will review and improve operating procedures to achieve safety and trouble free operation. You will report directly to the Operation manager


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Definition and planning of the O&M activities on each solar plant
- Coordination of the O&M activities in field executed by subcontractors or internal operators
- Prepare and review periodic report for each plant
- Reviews and improve operating procedures to achieve safety and trouble free operation.
- Ensures compliance with performance model and maximize plant availability.

Requirements
- The ideal candidate is graduated in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiar with the safety rules and procedure to adopt in a power plant.
- Fluent in English
- Good judgment, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
- Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work
