Job Title: Head - St Dunstan's College Preparatory School

St Dunstan's Preparatory School Is a thriving, Christian (Anglican) Co-educational Preparatory school situated in Rynfield, Benoni. The school has a proud history dating back to 1918, preparing a capacity cohort for entry to St Dunstan's College in Grade 8. Following a long and successful career, the present Head is due to retire at the end of 2013.

The Preparatory School Head will take full responsibility for the overall welfare of the Preparatory School, including but not limited to the leadership of academic, sporting, and cultural life of the school, the management of and setting of disciplinary standards and policy, as well as broad oversight and development of the overall vision of excellence for the school.

The Head will form part of the Campus Executive Committee, and will be expected to contribute to the formation of broad vision and policy at the regular Campus Executive meetings.
The incumbent will be a proactive self-starter who will have the intuitive trust and full support of the Rector, to whom s/he will report and work closely with. S/he will have demonstrable expertise in a senior management / headship position in a prep school environment, and hold appropriate recognised qualifications. S/he will be an independent, critical thinker not afraid to challenge the Rector on matters when relevant, yet will be loyal, supportive, trustworthy, and add to the sense of unity of the school. In addition the candidate will actively support and add to the Christian ethos of the school.

Only suitably qualified and experienced candidates will be considered.
