VP- Digital Insights & Marketing
Responsibilities:
AUDIENCE INSIGHTS & GROWTH
1. Audience research and competitive analysis to help set digital strategy for each brand that drives audience growth & engagement and makes brands more self-sufficient; tactics may include:
*Manage all data sources to ensure they are accurate, comprehensive, and applied appropriately
*Lead teams to draw a clear, defensible line between the raw data and actionable insights; bring a data- driven view to the digital leadership team.
*Transition from enterprise-wide web analytics to a suite of lightweight tools that programmers, product developers, marketers and GMs can use directly and get more value out of, ultimately “decentralizing” analytics as a stand-alone function.
Develop ongoing research to study the correlation/causality of social media buzz (by person, by type, by platform), and TV viewing to develop our social media plans and media buying strategies to serve TV viewing, i.e. address our 76M fans as the ultimate focus group and opt-in audience.
2. Lead strategic thinking and ‘best practices’ for all audience acquisition channels (SEO, SEM, Facebook, Twitter, content networks, etc).
3. Develop culture and processes for relentless optimization of existing products, A/B testing, and experimentation.
4. Lead overall audience data strategy with potential endgame of a CRM of current and potential audiences, preferences across channels; own the collection, clustering, and organization of all audience datasets, including the BI tool. End goals of (i) addressability of content, user experiences and advertising, (ii) super-fan insights to benefit digital and linear businesses and (iii) increasing cross-platform monetization value.
5. Lead 1st party audience research and curating of industry research, laddering up to audience growth and Ad Sales; develop single voice for messaging out digital and cross-platform industry trends and key opportunities
6. Evolve our cross-platform research to understand correlations/impacts around how digital consumption and TV consumption are related; build predictive models for content programming and windowing on how we can grow the overall pies for viewing time and revenue in a cross-platform world.
7. Lead relationships with all key audience/insights vendors (Outbrain, BlueFin, etc)
AD SALES MARKETING, ANALYTICS AND INSIGHTS
1. Develop regular reports and insights for the sales teams to understand who our audiences are and what attributes make them most attractive to advertisers
2. Launch primary research studies to build on knowledge of our audiences and identify opportunities and storylines that can be translated into new sales opportunities
3. Lead client-facing audience research working closely with the business and digital Ad Sales, including brand perception and campaign effectiveness studies.
4. Work closely with the Linear Ad Sales Research team to tell a cross-platform story about our audiences and identify consumption patterns that suggest optimal timing and messaging of advertising on multiple platforms.
