Job Title: Switchboard Operator

Introduction:
A vacancy exists for a Switchboard Operator based at East London Private Hospital, reporting to Cindy- Lee Prince, Reception Supervisor. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective management of the telephone service of the Hospital
Critical Outputs:
• Answering the switchboard
• Updating the telephone lists.
• Assist wards and Doctors with faulty telephones / lines.
• Assist Admission staff with admission duties where possible.
• Any other duties or tasks that may arise during the normal course of the day.
• Updating speed dials on switchboard.
• Assist internal and external customers with queries
Requirements:
• Grade 12 and at least 2 years hospital experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good relations with doctors, hospital staff and suppliers.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Team player.
• Very energetic and well organised.
• Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
• Computer literacy is required.
