The intern will work within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit under the direct, overall supervision of the ICT Assistant.
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS Functional ResponsibilitiesBelow are some of the functionalities

Assists in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing IT equipments.
Installing and configuring IT equipments according to the laid down IT guidelines.
Ensuring that all computers are kept clear of illegal software and images and carrying out routine tasks such as running systems diagnostics, patch management and system optimization
Assists with resolution of user support issues by monitoring the KEOC Help desk and attending to users request.
Assists with setting up, configuring and monitoring both video and audio conferences and making of conference calls.
Maintaining the inventory of computer related equipments and communications equipments, assist in pertaining asset management
Assist in publishing, editing, modifying and uploading content on the KEOC Intranet webpage

Perform other related duties as required.

Good knowledge of electronic messaging systems, Windows OS, MS Office Suite and of LAN/WAN concepts.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Candidates must be studying for a university degree such as Bachelor or Masters preferably in information sciences, computer sciences, telecommunications or engineering (or the equivalent), or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of this internship position.
No previous work related experience is required.
Familiarity with the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2007 and/or newer versions) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
Familiarity in handling of web-based management systems. Database management; web applications technology and/or technology training experience.
Fluency in written and spoken English required.
