Office of the Speaker Manager - Chris Hani District Municipality in Eastern Cape


Job Title: Manager: Office of the Speaker

[POST LEVEL 03: TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGER528 147.95 per annum] [3 YEAR FIXED EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT]

Minimum requirements:
Matric
A Bachelor's Degree/National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent qualification at NQF level 5/6.
At least 5-7 years relevant experience of which 3 years to be at managerial level
Computer literacy
Valid Driver's License
Research experience will be highly recommended.

Key performance areas (include but are not limited to):
Manages specific key performance areas associated with the functioning of the Office of the Speaker.
Co-ordinate the seating of the Speakers Forum, and the tactical team within the District,
Develop, implement and monitor strategic programmes within the Office of the Speaker e.g. public participation programmes, moral regeneration etc
Ensure implementation of rules of order of the Council, policies adopted by the Council and reviewal thereof.
Develop and ensure effective implementation of the Diary of engagement of the Council
Prepare and manages budget of the Office of the Speaker,
Ensure the implementation of Councillor's benefits and their welfare of Municipal Council
Provide support to oversight structures/bodies to ensure their effectiveness.

Application letters accompanied by a comprehensive CV, certified copies of qualifications, identify document and valid driver’s license must be sent to the Chris Hani District Municipality not later than the 26th April 2013 at 12h00. No faxed CV or emailed applications will be accepted. It will be expected of candidates to be available for selection interviews on a date and time as determined by the Municipality. If the candidate/applicant is found canvassing any of the panelists he/she automatically disqualify him/herself. Appointments will be subjected to compulsory pre-employment screening in the form of qualification, references, criminal checks and competency assessment (where applicable). If the candidate has not been contacted within a month after the closing date he/she must accept that his/her application was unsuccessful
