THE OPPORTUNITY:
Microsoft Services is searching for a highly motivated, results driven and dynamic Territory Services Executive to drive Microsoft Consulting and Support Services to our top enterprise customers, helping them more efficiently operate and optimize their Microsoft investments. This individual should bring a creative approach to selling & evangelizing our solutions in a competitive market. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world class services sales team that is helping establish Microsoft as a trusted advisor.
The Territory Services Executive role requires a solid understanding of Microsoft’s technology, competitive positioning, and experience in the sale of complex and strategic information technology solutions for large customers. The Candidate must possess a demonstrated fluency calling on high-level business decision makers (CIO, CFO) with IT project-specific outcomes. Experience in solution selling through partnering with high level system integrators, solution providers and other technology providers is expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Territory Services Executive will work in concert with local account and service delivery teams to build and manage a multi-million dollar Microsoft Services pipeline of specific Strategic Consulting and Support opportunities. The TSE will develop a sales strategy, present offerings and solutions, and manage a sales pipeline from prospect to close within an assigned territory of accounts across Western Canada.
The Candidate must possess deep experience in understanding key business requirements and scoping high level solution concepts. The Candidate will work closely with Microsoft Consultants and Technical Account Managers, along with Microsoft Partners, third-party subcontractors, onshore/offshore systems integrators and outsourcing services. Experience in integrating Microsoft and non-Microsoft enterprise technologies is desired and will enhance the Candidate’s credibility with customers.
In order to understand client business objectives and ensure the highest customer satisfaction, you will work closely with the client at a number of levels throughout their organization. In addition, you will actively participate in account strategy and planning sessions with local Microsoft account and delivery teams. You will deliver regular sales forecasts and customer feedback on trends, opportunities and challenges in order to benchmark and forecast your business.
Key responsibilities include:
• Driving the sales of Microsoft Consulting Services and Microsoft Support Services to our Customers and Partners to meet Services Revenue commitments within the territory,
• Creating a business plan for a specific customer base,
• Prospecting, qualifying and closing opportunities for Consulting and Support services,
• Assisting with scoping client engagements by working closely with Microsoft technical professionals, including Consultants, Architects and Technical Account Managers,
• Working strategically and cooperatively with our Enterprise Sales teams and Partners to win in competitive situations and further drive the successful adoption and penetration of Microsoft products, technologies and solutions,
• Preparing proposals, statements of work & corresponding contracts,
• Demonstrating initiative, proactivity and creativity in the development and closure of Services opportunities,
• Appropriately managing customer expectations, and engaging internal Services Quality Assurance for high risk / high dollar engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Candidate must have superior business development and business management skills. The Candidate must demonstrate an expert level of proficiency in conflict and negotiation management. Depth of experience in a variety of applicable technologies as they relate to business challenges is beneficial, and strong services business knowledge is required. This individual must be able to understand and articulate Microsoft’s strategy and vision to a variety of audiences.
Key qualifications:
The Candidate must be able to travel regularly to clients across Western Canada, and periodically to Microsoft events across North America,
Past experience with, and/or an understanding of, the Western Canadian Energy Sector is preferred,
Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, computer science or engineering,
References for experience in development and management of a multi-million dollar Services pipeline,
A minimum of 10 years or more working experience in either consulting sales, client/project management, high-end professional services business development/delivery OR relevant management experience,
Demonstrated successful experience with Enterprise customers in selling large scale, high impact projects in a consultative approach,
Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills (including proposal writing and presentation building),
A solid understanding of Microsoft’s business value proposition and products, including how products and solutions are built, and what is required to implement Microsoft-based solutions within the enterprise,
Positive attitude and creativity in both solutions creation and deal making,
High energy and a passion for technology solutions,
Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage a heavy workload under tight deadlines,
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills,
Understanding of the partner channel, including SI and ISV communities.
