The national Sales and Marketing Group at PwC Management Services LP is seeking a full-time Proposal Senior Manager to join its sales and marketing team in Vancouver. The Proposal Senior Manager will drive and execute proposal activity within our Vancouver office, with a focus on increasing the success rate for our service opportunities in all lines of service. The Proposal Senior Manager will be a member of the Proposal Management Team (PMT), PwC’s national proposal network which provides pursuit support and coaching to all lines of services across the country.

Reporting to the City Leader in Vancouver, and linked to the Proposal Management Team nationally, the successful candidate will play a project management role for strategic and high-value proposals, establish leading proposal practices within Vancouver, and work closely with partners and client service directors to improve their win rate. By providing discipline around the proposal process, writing compelling value propositions, and working closely with client-facing professionals, the Proposal Senior Manager will play a significant role in championing the Pursuit framework culture across PwC. The Proposal Senior Manager will also ensure that materials meet PwC formatting styles and that brand guidelines are adhered to. The successful candidate may have to manage a large volume of work with strict deadlines and time demands, and as such, will need to be flexible with scheduling and completing tasks. The proposal manager will also participate in other initiatives for the PMT, from content management to Pursuit training, when needed.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

The Proposal Senior Manager uses his/her extensive sales and relationship expertise as well as his/her project management experience to:

· Manage the complexity of large proposals, with a focus on project management, managing the pursuit process from planning kick-off until final deliverable (written proposal and/or presentation)

· Work closely with opportunity teams to finalize proposal or presentation documents

· Assist engagement teams on using the right strategy and tactics to improve their success rate in winning business

· Develop and utilize firm-wide leading practices such as the Pursuit framework to increase the firm’s efficiency in responding to proposals

· Engage appropriate resources to write compelling value propositions

· Draw on industry expertise, qualifications and resources to assist client service teams to articulate clear competitive differentiation

· Liaise with local sales and marketing team, and national proposal resources to support the pursuit process locally

· Enhance tools developed by the PMT to improve the quality of market-facing documents in Vancouver

· Work closely with PMT colleagues to implement and adhere to the PwC verbal and written identity guidelines

· Coordinate final pursuit document production, if required

· Deal directly with internal clients to ensure timely delivery of documents

· Help manage an ongoing proposal funnel to capture and manage sales opportunities, and report Vancouver proposal activities to City Leader

· Work on PMT initiatives related to proposal content update and content management, and the team’s working community database

Job Requirements

Experience/Qualifications

· An undergraduate degree or master’s degree in business

· 5+ years of experience in proposals, business development or sales, including 2+ years in a consulting and/or professional services environment

· Experience in a financial or accounting environment preferred

· Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills

· Comprehensive knowledge of the proposal process or major bid process, and the ability to managed complex engagements

· Knowledge of MS Office suite (with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Lotus Notes, Acrobat Pro, and other software systems

· Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities, and stay focused in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

· Adaptability and the ability to handle ambiguity

· Flexibility to travel, if required
Skills
Communications

· Excellent written communication skills along with English composition

· Strong editing and proofreading skills preferred

· Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

· Exceptional interpersonal skills – the candidate must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, from managers to partners and senior executives, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude

· Ability to demonstrate sensitivity toward client engagements and confidentiality when interacting with firm leadership and internal clients

· Strong project management and excellent organization skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and conflicting agendas

· Ability to multi-task, to work under extreme pressure, and to meet tight deadlines and time demands

· Ability to work overtime at short notice

· A high degree of tact, diplomacy and professionalism



Sales & Marketing

· Excellent knowledge of pursuit management, proposal development and process
