Job Title: Airport Attendant (Three Posts), Mbeya, Moshi, Tanga
Position Description:
Work Stations: West Kilimanjaro (Ngare Nairobi), Mombo and Chunya
The candidates will report to the Airport Manager of Moshi, Tanga and Mbeya Airports and will be responsible for the following functions:
Duties and Responsibilities
To maintain cleanliness of the Airport.
Supervise grass cutting and trees at airstrip.
Ensure that there are navigational aids such as wind socks, edge markers, runways numbering and etc. at the airfield.
Inspect the airstrip and runways twice per day to ensure that there are no foreign objects.
To ensure that the airstrip has adequate security at all times.
Control trespassing and animal grazing at the airport land.
Control airport land from being encroached by farmers, developers or the nearby communities.
Protect the airport from bush fires by creating fire breaks.
Collects monthly aviation statistics including the filling of AS.1 form and sending them to TAA Headquarters.
Prepare monthly airport operational reports including financial returns and sending them to TAA Headquarters.
Liaise with Regional! District Authorities on airport issues pertaining to sensitization, visits of government officials and on security and safety. Carry out any related duties as assigned by the said Airport Managers.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should be holders of an ordinary certificate in secondary education (Form IV) or above with passes in English and Mathematics. Applicants who have an experience in Aviation related functions will have an added advantage.
Remuneration:TAA SCALE 1
Age Limit:Not more than 35 years.
