Job description:
The Incumbent will provide clients with guidance on best-practice and be able to manage a technical team to implement the best-of-breed solutions. Be technically certified across various products with experience in Open Systems.

Technical specialist with particular experience and skills in the following IBM product sets and technologies:
WebSphere Application Server v6.x - v8.x
IBM HTTP server v6.x - v8.x
IBM WebSphere Edge components v6.x - v8.x
WebSphere MQ
WebSphere DataPower XI50
WebSphere Services Registry and Repository
WebSphere Business Process Manager / Server
J2EE application packaging and deployments
JMS and MQ messaging configurations
JDBC and data technologies (particularly DB2)
Strong technical skills on AIX, Linux and Windows platforms
jython / jacl scripting
Good Unix shell scripting skills
Good MS-DOS batch scripting skills
Strong HTML / web development skills
Good TCP/IP networking knowledge
Good understanding of Cisco Ace LB would be an advantage

Further the job role requires strong skills in the following IT concepts
Automation and scripting
WebSphere Application Server infrastructure architecturing and designing.
WebSphere Application Server network routing and load balancing
WebSphere Application Server security concepts and implementations (MS-AD LDAP, Tivoli Ldap etc)
WebSphere Application Server and related products performance tuning concepts on various OS platforms
Reporting, monitoring and alerting on WebSphere environments
Basic knowledge of J2EE and java applications
Incident management (taking ownership and driving incidents until resolved)
Problem management (doing route cause analysis and driving problems until route cause known)
Change management (implementing, proposing and advising on change impacts and implications)
Proactive monitoring, alerting and escalations particularly in WAS environments

Outstanding Skills:
Technical expert in IBM WebSphere products and architecture
Experience implementing best-practice in an Open Systems environment
Proven track record
Implementation and upgrades of complex environments
Ability to lead a team of technical experts

Required:
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
At least 4 years experience in Associate's Degree/College Diploma
At least 4 years experience in WebSphere Application Server v6.x - v8.x
At least 4 years experience in WebSphere Application Server infrastructure architecture and design
English: Fluent

Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years experience in Associate's Degree/College Diploma
At least 6 years experience in WebSphere Application Server v6.x - v8.x
At least 6 years experience in WebSphere Application Server infrastructure architecture and design
