Job Description: Regional Volunteer Selection and Induction Manager Responsible to: Global Volunteer Selection and Induction Manager
Responsible For: Location, Group & Function: Regionally (Africa, Asia or Europe), Global Quality & Performance Team, People Group
Job Purpose: Manage the delivery of highly effective, quality, needs-driven volunteer selection, induction and debriefing by Country Offices, recruitment bases and preferred partners in the Region through induction, coaching, training, mentoring and quality checking to ensure consistency and delivery to global standards.

People and Relationship Management:Source, induct, monitor and performance manage Selectors, Assessment Day Managers, Trainers and De-briefers in recruitment bases, Country Offices and in approved partner organisations using the global volunteer selection, induction and experience evaluation performance framework, methodology and materials. Work closely with Country and Regional People Managers on ongoing support with volunteer selection, induction and de-briefing. Work closely with volunteer bodies on their role in supporting volunteer selection, induction and de-briefs. Recruitment, Selection and Induction:Lead responsibility in the Region to recruit, select, assess and train volunteer Selectors, Assessment Day Managers, Trainers and De-briefers. Mentor, support and guide employees and those involved in delivery of volunteer selection and induction as appropriate. Be a credible reference point on continuing volunteer assessment to ensure high quality volunteers fill placements and uphold VSO values whilst in-country. As required undertake the role of face – to face Trainer, E-moderator, Facilitator, Selector, Assessment Day Manager, De-briefer and Trained Assessor for the accreditation work stream. Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensure selection, induction and de-briefing delivery by recruitment bases, Country Offices and approved partner organisations meets VSO’s high standards. Using the global framework for monitoring quality of selection, induction and de-briefing events, evaluate overall performance for the Region) and provide quarterly management reports on quality and trends. Highly effective, quality network of Selectors, Trainers and De-briefers are sourced, selected, inducted, trained, coached and developed. Selector, Trainer and De-briefer performance is managed effectively, with performance issues addressed and resolved as soon as they arise. Selectors, Trainers and De-briefers are supported to perform to the highest standard. High satisfaction rate amongst volunteers regarding induction received before and during their placements. Selection and induction events in the Region result in high quality volunteers in place. De-briefing sessions for volunteers are sensitive, diplomatic, clear and concise. VSO Alumni know how to become involved in volunteer selection, induction and de-briefing and the options available to them. Volunteer selection, induction and de-briefing are carried out to a high standard. Quarterly management quality and trend reports produced for quality of volunteer pre-departure induction and learning in Region. Senior management satisfaction with report quality. Desirable:
Practical experience gained within a volunteering/Non Government Organisation context.
