Purpose:
To oversee and execute NBC performance tracking (Financials, Capacity, TAT & Efficiency, Productivity ... ) across the NBC, ensuring NBC MI quality standards are adhered to and that Reporting at BA and GRB level is to the standard required in terms of quality and timeliness
Key Responsibilities
Control and oversee budgeting and forecasting activity in the NBC functions as required.
Track and analyse monthly financials (Expenses, Savings, Unit Cost, Fraud Loss, etc) against budget and ensure that any excesses are challenged/agreed.
Provide the required level of NBC MI reporting mandated by Group, with specific focus on Data Quality, Accuracy & Timeliness and comprehensive data Analysis.
Provide guidance and leadership to NBC MIS to manage effectively their Performance
Obtain the Operating Expenses per Cost Centres report and work on the figures to prepare COO expenses dashboard and send the report to Barclays.
Identify the KPls for productivity which are applicable for NBC Tanzania from all required business functions which will assist in compling the Non Financial Matrix (NFM) and provide critical analysis for the business performance.
Ensure the monthly reports requirements are received across different business units and run the SQL through Data Mart for review and recommendations to Barc/ays and NBC Management.
Develop tools to ensure we have the right controls and Governance around various NBC Reporting
Review & track systems for monitoring Performance quality and identify and take steps to address deficiencies. Establish a standard govemance and escalation process covering all outstanding Reporting Issues.
Ensure new opportunities of cost save are identified and set strategies to reduce NBC operating cost
Liaise with countries to ensure that all new initiatives are agreed on and are implemented.
Engaging with teams to achieve excellent business results through continuous people
Conduct basic statistical analysis to track performance variances determine the root causes of errors. Make recommendations productivity or process enhancements to process owners.
Meet training objectives as set out in personal training and development plan
Develop COO business strategy and explain it to team members in such a way they understand the contribution they have to make.
Ensure monthly COO EXCO report/Board Pack report i~ prepared and available on time.
Competencies and Technical Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of the Banking Operations products processes & services Strong Experience in delivering business MI and data analysis
Awareness of current and emerging Industry Best Practices in Management of Information
Relationship/partnership approach - Excellent team player
Strong analytical skills, interpretation of data
Good knowledge of Advanced features like Reporting Services, Analysis Services,lntegration Services and Data Transformation
Services (DTS).
Awareness of cultural differences and varying legal/regulatory environments
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in Client interactions
Good experience and methodology of identifying performance issues (Root Cause Analysis) and tracking remediation until resolution
Qualifications & Experience
A degree or an Advanced Diploma in Banking or Accounting & IT.
2 yrs Experience in a financial environment
