Requirements:
• Candidates should hold a B degree and/or 3-year tertiary qualification in ICT, coupled with 2-3 years' supervisory experience in Information, Communication and Technology
• Computer literacy and a valid driver's licence are essential.
Duties:
• The incumbent will execute need assessments in relation to the availability of funds with regard to the sourcing of IT goods and services
• Provide and/or seek advice from relevant IT Departments on contract/tender specifications and provide advice on procurement procedures/ tenders and matters related to potential problems, risks, issues and opportunities
• Further functions include pre-evaluation of tenders/quotations in terms of qualifications, references, capability to fulfil the required service level agreement, price comparisons etc
• Auditing service level agreements entered into with suppliers and vendors
• Monitoring the usage of hardware and software and reporting to management on findings, proposed changes and incidences where higher level intervention is required
• S/he will monitor licences for compliance with organisational needs and requirements including follow-up checks for corrective action
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders such as the State Information Technology Agency (SITA)
• Develop/implement strategies to ensure optimisation of the Department's service delivery, resource utilisation and client satisfaction index.
