Responsibilities

Job Title:Head of Credit

TIB Corporate Finance Limited is a proposed full-fledged commercial bank, specializing in Corporate Banking and Finance. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director. He/she will oversee all aspects of the proposed bank's business activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

A successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties

Coordinate implementation of policies, procedures, decisions and strategies for the bank;

Responsible for originating, managing and maintaining bank's business relationships;

Manage the Corporate Banking activities so that the bank's performance goals and objectives are achieved;

Identify opportunities and carry out credit appraisals for short term finance, working capital, trade finance and other commercial banking facilities;

Develop and implement credit and other policies and procedures for the profitable operation of the bank;

Seek, evaluate and pursue business opportunities relating to developments within the bank's target market;

Ensure overdrafts loans and trade finance facilities are issued and recovered as per the bank's procedures and approved budget;

Design and advise the Managing Director and management committees on the most effective strategies for the development of bank's business; (ix) Review and coordinate the design and implementation of relationship. management, product origination and management, and branch corporate banking work plans;

Act as the principal Coordinator for the management of all the bank's asset's previously funded by the TIB Development Bank;

Liaise with key operational functions to ensure client service delivery meet the agreed benchmarks.

Understanding of banking and its related products as a business;

Ability to assess marketing opportunities and target markets for possible business;

Ability to suggest changes and improvements in projects that increase profitability of the business;

Competence in credit portfolio and project management;

Analytical and credit appraisal skills; and Interpersonal and customer handling skills.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Holder of a Masters' Degree/Postgraduate qualification in one of the following field; Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related discipline from recognized University/Institution.

Minimum of 8 years relevant experience of which 4 must be at a managerial level in a development/commercial bank or banking/finance institution.

Must have experience in dealing with projects.

Leadership, motivation and people management skills

Team player with strong interpersonal skills; and Computer literate.

Purpose

To develop and maintain Advanced Analytical Models within NBC's Pricing Business Unit, thus enabling continuous improvement through the provision of accurate and applicable analytical measures, with a specific focus on Funded and especially Non-funded income.

Key Responsibilities

To liaise regularly with line management and work closely with them to extract business requirements, evaluate and recommend possible business solutions, make assessments and produce feasibility analysis.

Develop hypotheses by holding regular project meetings to achieve project goals based on the outcomes of the project definition workshop and use these to guide the fact gathering and analysis.

Identify project risks (e.g. data constraints, time constraints, capacity, etc.) either by consultation with the business stakeholder’s e.g Corporate, Retail and/or a risk assessment workshop and develop mitigating action plans based on the outcome of the workshops held in agreement with the project Sponsor/Project Owner/Project Manage (PM). Develop and maintain competitor pricing analyses including international pricing trends / activities by completing benchmark competitor analyses in order to remain competitive in the banking industry.

To make sure that the business requirements are understood on all analytical projects given (to the team) by the Project Owner/Project Sponsor (e.g. Corporate, Retail etc.) by continuously communicating with the different project teams to make sure it is understood in order to ensure project delivery.

Initiate reversal and / or immediate recovery of loans found to be inadequate and in contravention of credit policies and procedures and escalate the same.
Responsible for communication calling for additional or missing documents, perfection of securities / conditions within 12 hours from receipt of the batches.
Confirm that the loans are maintained in the system properly, all charges collected and loan pay offs cleared.
Batch proof within 12 Hours all loan disbursed at credit administration department and confirm that loans have been keyed in properly, all charges collected and disbursement conditions met and any errors corrected.
Organize proper prompt system of filing and retrieval of all loan forms with the archives section.
Generate compliance reports for use in decision making and performance appraisals.

Qualifications & Experience

Business related Degree or Diploma
2 years experience in credit analysis and debt collection.
Knowledge in accountancy an obvious advantage
Proficiency in IT and T24 skills

Financial Planning and Budgeting
In collaboration with other NO Directors, advise the ND on strategic resource acquisition and allocation in line with RWG/VIR (Regional Working Group /Virtual Investment Review) recommendations approved by the Regional Leader.
Coordinate the planning and budgeting process and provide technical support, to ensure global and regional guidelines are met.
Review alignment of budgets between National Office, projects, grants, MyPBAS and Support Offices.
Control of NO budget, cash flow and project funding, by providing timely information to budget managers, in collaboration with the Operations Leader.
Contribute to the development of WV NO strategic direction and priorities.

Fiscal accounting, compliance, monitoring and reporting
Design and manage systems, policies and procedures that provide appropriate levels of security and control of WV assets, resources and operations.
Coordinate the submission of timely, accurate and complete relevant reporting to the Partnership and to internal users.
Define and implement efficient and effective internal control systems.
Adhere to partnership policies, procedures and guidelines as stipulated in the International Financial Manual and other documents, including – but not limited to: grant compliance, year-end closing, carry forward, accounting and reporting.
Coordinate the timely and accurate submission of financial reports in Notes FFR (Field Financial Reporting) database.
Review the reconciliation of MyPBAS to FFR monthly with action plan for addressing outstanding items.
Provide regular analysis of ADP/Grant financial reports and timely feedback to ADP/Grant managers for decision making
Ensure NO Finance staff visit Programs/Projects to monitor accountability issues, follow up on implementation of audit findings and provide support as needed.

Financial Risk Management and Controls
Manage appropriate financial systems and controls and ensure they are in place to avoid significant finance audit risk ratings, both at the NO and project levels.
Coordinate management responses to finance audits performed to the NO and projects are ensure they are sent on time to the Audit Department, and that finance related audit recommendations are implemented timely at all levels.
Coordinate adequate preparation for GC and external audits.
Manage Financial Risk
Implement anti-corruption and fraud strategies.

Main Duties

Assist with monitoring the financial system in order to ensure that BBC Media Action finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
