PROJECT: REHABILITATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF PASTORALIST WATER ASSETS THROUGH CASH FOR WORK LOCATION: MARSABIT COUNTY (MARSABIT NORTH, M. CENTRAL, LAISAMIS, LOIYANGALANI, NORTH HORR DISTRICT) JOB TITLE: CONSULTANT, CIVIL ENGINEER (SHORT TERM CONSULTANCY ASSIGNMENT)
Background: Diakonie Emergency Aid provides humanitarian aid worldwide. It supports people who have fallen victim of natural disasters, war and displacement and who are not able to cope on their own in the emergency situation they find themselves in. Diakonie will be supporting ADS in 2013 and 2014 to implement a recovery project, which will include the construction and rehabilitation of water sources.
Tasks: In this regard, Diakonie is looking for a consultant, (national or international), civil engineer, who must have experience and expertise in water recovery projects:- - To input and review and offer technical feedback and support on designs of water catchments - To input and review the bill of quantity (estimated cost) for each structure - To input and give feedback relating to each tender - Monitoring visits- and reports- pre, mid, post evaluations and offer technical back - Review all methods proposed by the partner to ensure conformity with construction standards and that the works will be carried out safely and in accordance with recognized and accepted practices. - Carry out inspection of all works
Time Frame: The project period is for 10 months ending June 30 2014.
Requirements: The Consultant is required to provide the following - A brief outline on how the assignment will be conducted - Appropriate timelines to perform the assignment - Daily rate in Euros
- CV of the lead Consultant - Evidence of proven field technical and field experience of Consultant (extended experience in water storage and water supply systems) - Details of consultancies performed in the last 3 years - Availability to perform the assignment at the earliest possible time
