National Case Manager at Life Healthcare in Gauteng

Job Title: National Case Manager

Function: Patient Services

Facility: Life Illovo Head Office

Introduction:
A vacancy exists for a National Case Manager, based at Illovo, reporting to the National Patient Services Manager, Sarah Steyn. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering, patient services’ case management strategy and sustaining case management’s best operating practices for the group. The candidate will be responsible for the management of the regional patient services specialist team.

Critical Outputs:
Drive effective quality management and customer care within case management
• Monitoring and improving quality metrics
• Monitor and drive compliance to Life working procedures
• Developing and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders
• Actively leading meetings and ensure participation of all members in order to ensure ISO compliance
Ensure effective people management in case management
• Demonstrating visible leadership skills in respect of Life values, operating models and strategies in order to support diversity and transformation
• Ensuring quality case managers are recruited to fill approved vacancies in accordance with the company’s transformation objectives
• Providing direction and inspiration to ensure staff are motivated and productive
• Managing and reviewing case management training plans that are compliant to Life’s WSP requirements in order to enable talent development
• Managing the performance of staff through the performance improvement process
• Ensuring all transactional processing is complete in order to provide employee compensation and benefits





Ensure effective interpretation & application of contracts and funder rules by
• Reducing and managing the risk associated with RSRT’s by making recommendations regarding patient based data
• Building effective operational relationships with funders
Ensure effective operational capabilities by
• Implementing the group PS case management business plans in order to ensure optimal functioning
• Drive the target for the IDSO
Governance and risk management
• Support tip-off investigations

Requirements:
• Degree/Diploma in Nursing with approximately 5-10 years post basic, preferably ICU or theatre trained
• Proven leadership and/or people management experience within healthcare.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Life billing contracts and funder rules
• Strong clinical competency skills and clinical coding, both ICD and CPT
• Strong interpersonal and self management skills
• Computer proficiency (MS office)
• Willing to travel
